Email: A Tried and True Marketing Method [INFOGRAPHIC]

Although modern marketing methods like social media have received a lot of hype in recent years, a new report from EveryCloud concludes that email is still the best tactic for turning potential customers into actual customers.

Using a large set of data they look at the numbers backing email and social media marketing, and the clear winner is email. Those surveyed said as such, preferring to get promotional offers via email than on social media (72% to 71%). Furthermore, US consumers are connected with an average of 11 brands via email and only 9 brands on Facebook, where the average post from a business reaches just 2% to 6% of those that like the page. Conversely, 16% of marketing emails are opened.

Email marketing also has a great return on investment, generating $38 for every $1 spent on the campaign. Some 55% of businesses can directly trace over 10% of their sales to marketing emails. This might explain why 97% of businesses still use email marketing – it works!

Other areas looked at by the graphic include what does and don’t help CTR, the different ways people respond to marketing emails, how this is all broken down in the demographics, and a ton of other interesting facts and stats.

So, while email marketing may seem old-hat to some, there’s no denying that it is still the most effective method.
